December 21, 2005
According to China Securities Journal, which cited Chen Jinqiao from China Academy of Telecommunications Research, China will not issue 3G licenses in early 2006, although TD-SCDMA tests in China have seen significant progress and compatible technology and equipment has been ready for commercialization. Chen has also indicated that the launch of 3G services will result in an increase of 60 million users annually.
